I was having lunch with my mom.

She asked “where’s your dad?”

I said “which one? (I don’t have one)”

So she said “your ex-dad”.

“I don’t know.” I said.

she then said “sometimes I feel sympathetic for your dad because he’s not rich and fighting for survival.”

I forgot what I said but I know I didn’t say this to her….

“You made the decision to divorce him. Why bother sympathetic because that sounds like you’re regretting.”

But she told me “sometimes you need to learn to stop hate and being mean.”

She’s probably right. But, why bother “regretting” afterward? Once you made the decision regarding something like this, there isn’t any space to have such feeling.
