I don’t think it’s a phenomenon but one of the pop culture’s favorite in 2009.
2012.
Based on the Mayan calendar, claim that civilization of humanity, ends on Dec 21, 2012.
Because that’s the date which the Mayan calendar predicted events to.
Because there are no prediction of what will happen on/after Dec 22, 2012.
And then there’s the big catastrophic, typical Hollywood gigantic-blockbuster movie came out in November called “2012″.
All of a sudden people are either a) worry b) joke c) doesn’t care about the so-called “The End of the World”.
There are less than 3 years to go.
Suppose it will happen. All of us “disappear” or “transform” into another civilization.
Why are we doing what we’re doing right now, since we’re going to be “dead” or being “transformed” anyways?
Suppose it will never happen. All of us are alive and well on Dec 22, 2012.
Is it worth it to get worried or paranoid for the next 3 years just to think about you’ll be “gone”?
